When the parents of the bride say their prayers after getting ready, the feeling when a birthday prince/princess/ non-binary person walk into their parties completely in shock, the look of amazement by company partners at a corporate event. As owner/planner/designer of J&K Events, I take care of the logistics, timelines, design, and styling so you never miss a moment.
I find the most important inspiration and motivation from my own background and life experiences as an Army veteran and Virginia Beach native. In 2009, I became a mom and have had the pleasure of being a mother to four amazing and talented children, with my two oldest, as junior planners. My fiancé Vega, who also happens to be my biggest support and backbone! Together, we made a home in Hampton Roads, Virginia, where we love working together to help build our community and teaching our children the basic foundations of business and togetherness.

During my downtime you can find me at local thrift stores, searching for antiques with for DIY projects, talking to my husband about goals for our family, re-watching my favorite series on the couch with my daughters, or crushing my boys in video games. I believe that every day must begin with a fruit smoothie and a snack. I love art, and believe self care is a woman's first step to self love. I am a lover of love. I can’t wait to meet you and start working on your next event!
My number one goal is to not only put a smile of pure joy on a clients face but to also make life long connections for years to come. Nothing better than bringing to life the dream of those who are more than deserving of a memorable moment in life.
Meet the Rake Children
My eldest son Josiah is a straight A, gifted program student who wants to major in architecture and engineering. He is the lead gamer in the home bringing to the table leadership, logistics, and a practical outlook on things that many may not have thought of. With his brilliance in mathematics, he is more than capable of helping others to stay on budget and find wonderful opportunities. His passions are architecture, photography, and boxing.

My eldest daughter Sayuri is my artistic and free-spirited student who plans to one day be a veterinarian . Her compassion for others and her eccentric way of thinking brings new fresh ideas and styles not yet seen by those outside her circle. She is always up to date on the latest fashions and has a keen sense for beauty. With her unique ideas she brings creativity and elegance.
My two youngest children Ajani and Catalina are still very young and active in school and life. Catalina takes up boxing under a local gym while Ajani is more focused in science and gaming.
